Offering clarity to our 2013 regional economic forecast will be Bill LaFayette and a panel of business and economic experts at the CMC forum on January 9, 2013, Blue Chip Economic Forecast.
This is LaFayette’s favorite speaking engagement because “I know that I am among friends.” This will be the 12th CMC presentation of his regional economic forecast and his overall 14th analysis for the Columbus economic forecast.
The panelists are expected to discuss economic influences beyond Columbus, the state and even the nation. Struggles in other countries, particularly in Europe and Asia certainly impact but our worldwide economy yet also offer opportunities for growth. Are these areas expected to stabilize or continue to cause waves of economic distress?
The discussion will also suggest areas of growth and new or continuing challenges in our region. LaFayette doesn’t want to give away all his secrets yet, he gave reason for local optimism explaining that Columbus has regained 90% of the pre-recession jobs since 2010, overall, the nation is only at 50%.
